Get your unique URL or subdomain or wherever you want wordpress to work on your host provider.
wordpress.example.com coolurl.cooltimes.com
Download Wordpress to this root. /
Or define a custom folder for it;
wordpress.example.com/partywp/
NOTE If you are looking for a free (without hosting, although less convenient for a website) wordpress with a similar URL, use the wordpress.com version and you donβt need to do anything.
http://wordpress.com/ differs from http://wordpress.org/
Wordpress.com is like a google blogger, and you just create an account and they give you the URL and free blogging area with small templates. You can migrate your free wordpress.com to custom wordpress.org - if you want to use the Wordpress hosting naming convention, refer to wordpress.
Added:
If you change the location from the original installation; to another path or location. Then you must remove Wordpress, which is located somewhere else or earlier, and reinstall where you want it to live, in order to avoid any integrity or errors, etc.
So, if now it should be: wordpress.example.com - work with your host provider (I hope not godaddy) to find the root in this domain and reinstall the new fresh version, and you should be fine. If you have other problems with DNS, try to talk more clearly about your question.
