Authorize.net: How to check a credit card using "AUTH_ONLY"?

I am using authorization.net AIM module transaction. Now I want to confirm the credit card number, expiration date and CCV number without charging a credit card.

I used the AUTH_ONLY method in x_type and passed the quantity as "0.00". This did not work. I changed the value to "0.01". It worked. In accordance with my assumption “0.01”, taken from the card, and saw the transaction in the report, without charging a fee, I need to check the card. According to their documentation, he will not charge you. But its charge.

Can someone help me with this? Also explain the difference between AUTH_ONLY and AUTH_CAPTURE

AUTH_ONLY transactions are stored only in your outstanding transactions for 30 days. If the transaction AUTH_ONLY is not withdrawn for settlement within 30 days, the transaction status will change to "Expired" and the funds will not be transferred.

http://support.authorize.net/authkb/index?page=content&id=A510&pmv=print&impressions=false A complete list of transactions can be found here.

There is another option for checking AUTH_CAPTURE + VOID credit card, which will charge and return the transaction.
