Removing the info window from the integrated map in new Google Maps

In past years, it was easy to remove the info window from the built-in Google maps. Just add iwloc=near to the query string.

In the past few weeks, Google has moved to a new inline query string format to match the new Maps product.

Does anyone know how to hide the info bubble with a new query string? I want to save the marker icon (obstructs info window). I tried to include iwloc=near before the rest of the query string, but did nothing. I also do not see any parameters in the new built-in map builder.

 <iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?iwloc=near&pb=!1m20!1m8!1m3!1d3246.3028987305834!2d-97.52973594999999!3d35.5462208!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!4m9!1i0!3e6!4m0!4m5!1s0x87b21a2b843c4d5f%3A0xd6deac9724fb9935!2s7316+N+Western+Ave%2C+Oklahoma+City%2C+OK+73116!3m2!1d35.5462208!2d-97.5297267!5e0!3m2!1sen!2sus!4v1394217557679" width="420" height="200" frameborder="0" style="border:0"> </iframe>

Here is what is output. Pay attention to the info window, limited to red, which I want to remove.

Looks like they've revised the way the built-in api cards work ...

From the new documents , it seems that you can definitely remove the bubble by executing the request in view mode instead of โ€œplace modeโ€, however this will not lead to a marker.

Itโ€™s not possible to tell which options are supported for location mode, but you can try updating your URL to the endpoint of a new location and then experimenting with some of the legacy options.

Update

I myself tested it with the new endpoint google.com/maps/embed/v1/place/... and it does not work if you add &iwloc to it. In fact, it throws an error about an unsupported parameter.

Unfortunately, it seems that the new API only supports these parameters:

The following optional parameters can be used with any of the cards in the above modes.

center defines the map display center. It accepts either a comma latitude and longitude (e.g. 37.4218, -122.0840) or a place name or address bar (e.g. Champ + de + Mars, Paris, France).

Zoom sets the initial zoom level of the map. The range of acceptable values โ€‹โ€‹is from 0 (the whole world) to 21 (individual buildings). The upper limit may vary depending on the map data available at the selected location.

maptype can be either a roadmap (default) or a satellite and determines the type of map tile to load.

language defines the language used for user interface elements and for displaying labels on maps. Please note that this option is only supported for some tiles in the country; if the requested specific language is not supported for a set of fragments, then the default language for this is a timer. By default, visitors will see a map in their language.

The area defines the appropriate boundaries and labels for display based on geopolitical sensitivity. Accepts the region code specified as a two-digit ccTLD domain (top-level domain).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Try entering the latitude and longitude coordinates instead of the address. I was just pleasantly surprised that he generated the iframe code without overlaying the address block.
