Browser: IE8 Compatible

I saw him mention in several places that Browserify is not compatible with IE8 and below ( here , here , and mentioned here ).

I do not see anything official in this document. It looks like it could be using Function.prototype.call () , but I can't say for sure.

Does anyone know for sure:

  • how far back IE is supported.
  • which code (if any) is incompatible with IE8
  • any recommended workarounds for IE8 specifically

I use Browserify for my http://github.com/pllee/luc library to create all the browser code. My tests pass on IE6 and I use ES5 gaskets, but I don’t think that would make Browserify work (chicken and egg situation). The links you show are pretty old, and I know that Browserify has changed its implementation since then.

You can see on the official page that they support IE7 and higher.
