After trying and searching more, I found it very easy and simple. All you have to do to remove all Intellij:

  • There is a hidden .IdeaIC13 file in the home directory, it contains two files. Just delete the file.

  • Delete the installation directory for Intellij, which is usually located in the opt / directory or where you previously installed it.

  • Delete installation directory
  • Delete the configuration directories "config" and "system". They contain IntelliJ IDEA caches, configurations, and plugins.

See the support page "Directories Used by the IDE to Store Settings, Caches, Plugins and Logs" for specific OS locations for these two directories.

The "config" and "system" directories are probably in your Home folder, but they are hidden and you must press CTR + H to show them.

In a later version, this will make it work:

$ snap remove intellij-idea-community
