Support for automatically generated "release notes" in GitLab

Question

We plan to upgrade from Jira + Gerrit to GitLab. One important feature we use at Jira is to automatically create release notes .

Question: Are there any similar features in GitLab?

If your commit messages follow a specific policy, you might consider creating a release note from the specified commits.

Well, update gitlab 8.2.0 https://about.gitlab.com/2015/11/22/gitlab-8-2-released/

It says that you have the ability to add release notes (text and attachments) and git tags (as well as releases).

Now just create a tag for each version, and then you will see a markdown.
