Switching between preview phone / Windows XAML editor in VS2013?

I have a universal application for Windows and a phone in VS2013, and I have a page in the general draft of the solution.

  • When creating pages in a Windows project, the tablet is displayed in the XAML preview window.
  • When creating pages in the Phone project, the phone is displayed in the XAML preview window.
  • When creating pages in a project, the general XAML preview window shows ... a tablet .

As I try to add more pages to the overall project, I would like to have a quick way of sanity - to test my user interface on both form factors without actually starting the project. Unfortunately, in the "Device" panel there is no way to switch between preview devices.

How can I view the XAML of the common project page in the phone without actually launching the project?

You do not need to run a project.

There is an easy way to switch between different types of design using the drop-down list that appears above the xaml code of the shared project, as shown below.

Step 1: find the dropdown

Step 2: Click Down Arrow

Step 3: Change the project to .WindowsPhone

Step 4: Change it if necessary.

Hope this helps

In your view of XAML. Above the XAML code, on the top toolbar you can find a drop-down menu that allows you to switch between your MyApp.Windows and YourApp.WindowsPhone applications. This way you can easily switch views.

Hope this helps.
