Playing video in UITableViewCell (Vine) - performance issues

I am using AVFoundation (AVPlayer and AVPlayerLayer) to play videos in UITableviewCell. However, when I look at the table view, the scrolling is not smooth. Videos that can be viewed on the screen while scrolling begin to play automatically. When they scroll, they stop playing. So, how to properly play these videos so that it does not affect the smoothness of scrolling?
