Error opening installation log file. Make sure the specified location exists and is writable

Problem

When you try to install the application on Windows, the following message appears:

Error opening installation log file. Make sure that the specified location exists and is writable.

Decision

When you try to install the application, a temporary folder will be created, for example. Administrator\AppData\Local\{F2234F94-BDEB-4DBD-9ACB-D3AB5C8526C5} {F2234F94-BDEB-4DBD-9ACB-D3AB5C8526C5} . Go to this directory and double-click the .MSI file, and the installation will restart and complete successfully.

You may encounter this error if the TMP and TEMP directories are different. This may cause the installer files to be written to TMP, but when you try to read these files using the TEMP value that you see in the error.

Confirm that both values refer to the same path. For example, from the command line:

  set TEMP=%tmp%

and then run the installation again

Otherwise, it seems like a problem with operating system permissions.
