Using the Google Play Staged Rollout options, I can publish a new version of my Android application with a small percentage of users. Depending on how successful he is, I would increase the percentage for a certain period. I assume (because I canβt find it documented) that if I refuse the application up to 10%, then this percentage applies to both new and existing users of the application. (change, see comment below)
If so, then people visiting the Google Play store will see screenshots of the applications and, possibly, use these visual images to decide whether or not to install the application. If my new version has a significantly different appearance, then new users will not see the true presentation of the new application before downloading it.
I suspect that I already know that the answer is no, but does anyone know for sure whether new screenshots can be downloaded that will appear only to those who receive the new version? I suppose it really depends on how the step-by-step code / deployment logic works, whether it depends on the Google Play application on the device or not, until the user actually clicks the Download button. Does anyone have experience that they can share?
