How to disable NTLM authentication for OPTIONS requests in IIS

As I understand it, an OPTIONS request should be processed without authentication. I host my web application on IIS 7.x and 8.x and uses NTLM and Kerberos authentication (this is an intranet application).

How to disable authentication for an OPTIONS request in IIS in case of Windows authentication?

Go to the handler mapping function in IIS and edit the authentication handler and remove the OPTIONS verb from registering for requests using OPTIONS. Hope that helps
