ERROR: Failed to create native gem extension on Yosemite

I have a problem installing CocoaPods on Yosemite. I installed the gem installation with the following command.

sudo gem install cocoapods

Finally, I found out what the problem is.

First you need to run the Xcode command.

 xcode-select --install 

Secondly, you need to verify that the Ruby on Rails configuration is correct.

After that, connect the Xcode command-line tool in the Xcode 6 settings.

Then you can use the sudo gem install cocoapods .

I'm not quite sure about the specific error, although most likely you will have to reinstall Ruby after upgrading to Yosemite before installing cocoa pods.

After the upgrade, the Ruby configuration seems to be broken.

In addition, you can use Homebrew to control Ruby versions and installations (this is mainly not only for Ruby).
