How to skip sorting a table in phpmyadmin

The table showed unsorted values as the default value. If I end up clicking on any column, the table will be sorted in ascending order of that column. All I can do later is to select another column or change the direction of ordering (from ascending to descending and vice versa)

I can’t figure out how to skip order altogether.

On the phpMyAdmin home page, go to "Settings"> "Main panel"> "Overview" (or "Settings"> "Main frame for older versions") and uncheck the box "Remember the sort table" and click "Save".

Then, when viewing the table, you can sort the columns as usual, but clicking the Browse button will delete the sort again.

Tested in versions 3.5.2.2 and 4.0.10.14.

What I get from your question is that you want to disable table sorting when loading phpMyAdmin.

By default, it sorts the tables by primary key in ascending order.

and you cannot turn off sorting in phpMyAdmin, although you can use the concept of private bookmarks.

Here is a related article: How to set default sorting for tables in PHPMyAdmin (i.e. always "Primary Key - Descending and quot.)
