Align multiple textviews in new CardView

Question

I am trying to create a CardView that will show the author’s quote, including the author’s name, quote, and then the link below. I think I have most of this, but it seems that the general alignment rules for TextViews do not seem to apply to CardView. I researched here and found that you should add android:layout="vertical" to LinearLayout (or RelativeLayout), but that doesn't seem to change things for me. I also tried adding it to CardView itself, believing that it inherits orientation from the immediate parent, but also no luck. I still get TextViews overlapping and not one by one.

I decided. It was just necessary to wrap <TextView> in <LinearLayout> (or any other layout), but still in <android.support.v7.widget.CardView> .
