Simulator Error Unavailable (Xcode 6.1)

I am going to download the latest version of my application in the App Store, however until now I have not done much testing on iOS 7.

When I go to use the simulator, I get an error message:

iPhone 4S not available: select another device and try again.

My deployment target is set correctly to 7.0.

Has anyone experienced this error? Any solutions?

Make sure you have iOS 7 simulators installed. Go to Xcode → Preferences → Downloads → Components and make sure that 7.0 and / or 7.1 simulators are loaded. If there are check boxes next to each simulator, click "Check and Install Now" to see if you need to re-download the simulators.

For those who work with Yosemite

The earliest simulator runtime supported on Yosemite is 7.1.

In Xcode, from the menu, select: Xcode → Open Developer Tool → iOS Simulator

When the sim is open from the menu, select: Hardware → Device → Device Management ...

Click the + button in the lower left corner and add the devices / operating systems you need.
