Prevent Chrome popup.html from closing due to iframe action

Question

I have included iframe in my popup.html of my extension. Inside this iframe, use must be sent by clicking on the button. This opens a new tab that causes popup.html to close.

How to make popup.html file stay active?

This is necessary as iframe processes with additional information.
