I am trying to install SQL Server 2014 Enterprise x64 on a 64-bit machine running Windows 7 SP1. I am trying to install side by side with installing SQL Server 2008 R2.
I work with the Configuration Wizard with everything that looks great, except for a warning about the firewall (which, I think, can’t resolve until after installation). In the next step, I give the new installation a different name (MSSQLSERVER2014) than the existing MSSQLSERVER.
When I finally run it, it fails. To be specific, everything fails, with the exception of customer data quality and documentation.
