House size

Trying to do a cleanup on my system that ended, I found 4 gigs in my homegrown cellar directory. I'm not sure what the basement does. Is it just a cache that you can safely delete or use these files?

The basement contains what is installed by homebrew. Then it creates symbolic links in the / usr / local / bin directory to the files in the basement. If you delete what is in the Cellar directory, you can no longer use the homebrew material installed.

The basement directory contains all the packages that are installed by homebrew. However, it also contains all the versions that you have installed.

You can run brew cleanup to remove old versions of packages to clear some space.
