Can I get several different Meteor applications running on the same instance of MongoDB?

I would like to deploy the same application in several different places, and possibly also in different versions, and I would like all my deployments to be launched from the same Mongo database. Are there any pitfalls for this approach?

Just try using the same MONGO_URL and it will work fine. Also see this question . We do just that and did not encounter any problems.

If you work in several physical places, keep in mind that mongodb traffic is not sent via https. For this reason, it is best practice to place your database and your application in the same data center (for example, using compose.io and the host in EC2 east).
