How to assign an IP address in a VPC for an RDS instance?

I have an RDS instance running in a DB subnet group in my VPC. This instance has an endpoint of the form someDatabase-db-small.abcd1234.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306 - someDatabase-db-small.abcd1234.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306 - someDatabase-db-small.abcd1234.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306 - someDatabase-db-small.abcd1234.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306 - someDatabase-db-small.abcd1234.us-east-1.rds.amazonaws.com:3306 .

How to allocate this instance an IP address in the VPC 10.0.0.0/24 subnet?

The instance will already have an IP address in the allocated range. Use something like “dig” to find the IP address of the endpoint inside the VPC, and you will return the IP address from your VPC subnet.
