UIWebview: WebThread EXC_BAD_ACCESS

I have a completely simple application: show a web view with http://tv2.dk

I use a storyboard, added a web view, and set the property on my controller. To keep things simple, I don't set a delegate.

In viewDidLoad, I call the web view with the URL I want to load

[self.webView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://tv2.dk"]]];

Every time the application starts, it crashes due to some error in the web stream workflow, see this dump.

From @RasmusStyrk's comment above

I found that using NSZombie I received the following failure message: WebviewCrash [4598: 956679] *** - [UIViewAnimationState release]: the message was sent to the freed instance 0x1707c5370. I had to fix the animation in UIVIew using [UIView not setAnimationsEnabled: NO]; and now it works. This seems like a bug in iOS8. -

We also had this where it would accidentally crash, and setting [UIView setAnimationsEnabled: NO] is the only thing that worked to completely fix this problem!

Thread EXC_BAD_ACCESS says it all. UIWebView likes to call from the main thread. Try entering the code as follows:

 dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{ //send webview a message [self.webView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://tv2.dk"]]]; });

In my case, I made a stupid mistake to forget to add WKWebView to the view hierarchy before loading the resource.
