Is it normal that the Delete key does not work when trying to rename a DB / table to SSMS?

I am trying to rename a database or table in SSMS 2014 (using CU6) by clicking and selecting DB or table in Object Browser and then pressing F2 to change the name. The Delete key on my keyboard does not delete the character to the right of the cursor or any other.

Is this just a problem at my end, or did I find one trait of error?

This is a known issue that has been closed as "do not fix".
