Build Error - Apache Parquet-MR source (mvn installation error)

Question

I get the following error when trying to run "mvn clean install" to create a parquet-mr source obtained from https://github.com/apache/parquet-mr

Can someone direct me to the same thing? Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to use the latest plugin to filter maven. If the error is caused by a plugin that uses maven filtering as an implicit dependency, you should declare your dependency (e.g. maven-remote-resources-plugin:

This is caused by a maven error with Java 8:

[MSHARED-319] Filtering throws NPE when using JDK8

The workaround is to use Java 7.

I had the same error when creating Apache Parquet from https://github.com/apache/parquet-mr , but 1.8.0rc1 was successfully built ( https://github.com/apache/parquet-mr/archive/parquet -1.8.0rc1.zip )

Using the following command, execute.

 mvn install --batch-mode -DskipTests=true -Dmaven.javadoc.skip=true -Dsource.skip=true
