Maven executable not found

To do some work with Maven, I came across an error message:

"Maven exception: Error configuring command-line. Reason: Maven executable not found at: ...\bin\mvn.bat"

Everything seems to have changed in maven 3.3.3, I had the same problem on Windows. Looking at the maven bin directory, the mvn.bat file is no longer there, but there is a mvn.cmd file. I copied mvn.cmd to mvn.bat and it all went ...

Provide

Add the unzipped bin directory to your user PATH environment variable

as described in the Maven Installation Documentation .
