Completely remove ApplicationInsights from Visual Studio 2015

I looked around and could not find a good answer, so I am posting this question in the hope that this may be a kind of β€œgo” for others, hoping to completely remove Application Insights.

Firstly, and I find it obvious that I tried to remove the tool from tools and extensions, but, unfortunately, this made the situation even worse! Now I can’t create MVC projects at all due to the lack of DLLs.

I tried to find patterns that could include AI, but couldn't find them, so I was stuck wondering where else he was buried, which might cause such problems. Has anyone out there successfully removed the AI completely?

The easiest way is to disable the extension from the tools->extensions and updates window and restart VS. All our features should disappear, since VS will no longer download our extension.

Removing an extension from tools->extensions and updates should not break anything, since there are no dependencies on our extension. Inside, we do this all the time to test ourselves.

HOWEVER , removing the entire function from Add->Remove Programs can and will violate, as it will also remove the assembly of interfaces that other functions, such as ASP.NET, may exist.

On my PC, I tried to remove the AI, I am going to add or remove a program and remove the proxy application.

The next time I create the asp.net mvc web application, it does not work (it shows me an error like HRESULT ....). Therefore, if you are trying to remove it, do not do this, it will break your visual studio.

The best you can do is remove it from the Nuget package for your solution or save your solution as a template (it will save your time the next time you want to create a project without the insight of the application).
