Where is CloudWatch log data stored?

Question

Is there any document that shows how AWS CloudWatch log data is stored in AWS?

In particular, I would like to know:

• Is an existing service (such as Amazon S3) used to store events?

• Is any encryption available?

Interestingly, the information is available for CloudTrail, but there seems to be no documentation on CloudWatch.

Magazines seem to be sitting on top of Kinesis, therefore:

• Yes, an existing service, possibly customizable at the end of AWS
• I think they cope with this on their side.
