Yii2, an error occurs when throwing a NotFoundException

Question

I have a simple code that works in the beforeAction event of my application:

'on beforeAction' => function ($event) { throw new \yii\web\NotFoundHttpException('The requested page does not exist.'); }, 

I expect it to just show the 404 page of my application, but this causes the following error:

The problem is in the ErrorHandler.php file on line 85 :

 $result = Yii::$app->runAction($this->errorAction); 

When ErrorHandler try to run ErrorAction , NotFoundHttpException will be NotFoundHttpException again and ErrorHandler simply display an error message without rendering.

Decision:

 public function beforeAction($action) { if(!$action instanceof \yii\web\ErrorAction) { throw new \yii\web\NotFoundHttpException('The requested page does not exist.'); } return parent::beforeAction($action); }
