Xcode archive error: Missing IOS distribution signature ID for (Name)

When I try to archive my application, I get this error ...

I did a lot of research, but I donโ€™t seem to understand. I tried everything from canceling and re-creating my certificates and recreating Provisioning profiles.

What am I doing?

According to the Apple Developer forums, the expiration of the Apple Worldwide intermediate certificate certificate expires on 2/14/2016.

... This problem is related to the fact that you have an instance of an expired WWDR Intermediate certificate both in your System key chains and in Login. To solve the problem, you must first download and install the new WWDR intermediate certificate (by double-clicking on the file). Next, in the Keychain Access application, select the system keychain. Make sure to select "Show Expired Certificates" in the "View" menu, and then remove the outdated version of Apple Worldwide Relations Relations Certificate Certificate Intermediate Certificate (expired on February 14, 2016). Your certificates should now appear valid in Keychain Access and Xcode access to be sent to the App Store.

Follow these simple steps:

  • Open the keychain from the top menu, go to View> Show Expired Certificates .
  • Now in the Keychain Locate Expired Apple World Wide Partner Certification Authority in the login tab and the System tab from the left panel and remove it on both sides of the tab.
  • Download the certificate: https://developer.apple.com/certificationauthority/AppleWWDRCA.cer and double-click it to install it.
  • Restart Xcode.

I spent a lot of time because of this certificate. After removing the wwdr certificate in the account and system, the problem is fixed.
