Change TortoiseSVN from underscore "_svn" to folders ".svn"

I had a problem switching the TortoiseSVN installation from using the "_svn" folders to the ".svn" folders. The version of TortoiseSVN is 1.7.13, and the computer runs 32-bit Windows XP. It seems that no uninstallation, reboot and reinstallation of TortoiseSVN will force it to switch from using the "_svn" folders. I deleted every bit of the TSVN and Subversion registry data that I could find after uninstalling the software, in addition to deleting all the related files and folders that I could find. Any suggestions?

If simply renaming the _svn folders in existing working copies does not help you, you need to remove the environment variable SVN_ASP_DOT_NET_HACK as well
