What does the date format CCYYMMDD mean?

I want to talk to a soap service that has a date parameter, which should be in the CCYYMMDD format.

What is his definition?

This means yyyyMMdd , for example, year (4 digits), month (2 digits, leading zero) and day (2 digits, leading zero).

Thus, the date ISO 8601 2014-01-05 is represented as CCYYMMDD as 20140105 .

This is just another way of writing yyyyMMdd .

The CC part represents the century, and YY represents the two-digit year.

So instead of having 2014, you can use century 21, year 14

 yyyy CC YY 2014 -> 21 14

Update:

I originally assumed that yyyy:2014 translate to ccyy:2014 . Due to the lack of documentation that got stuck for a while.

After further research, I came to the conclusion that

yyyy:2014 actually ccyy:2114

CC means Century (but not as in 20th century) YY means Year MM means Month DD means Day

So, for the current date: 29/10/2015

  • CC : 20

  • YY : 15

  • MM : 10

  • DD : 29

We are in the 21st century; not the 20th century. But they mean the record of the year in a four-digit format, so technically this is yyyy. So technically ccyy is wrong. So, if you were born in 1990, use the ccyy format - 2090, and since 1990 - in the 20th century. But if you need to write a year, you must assume that they ask for yyyy, not ccyy. So, for example, if you were born in 1990, and they ask you in ccyy, do not write 2090 (although technically it is correct), write 1990 instead. Suppose that they want the year to be in four-digit format, and not in a century and a two-digit year,

CC in the date format CCYYMMDD indicates how many centuries have ended for a particular year.

ex.

  • The 90th year ended at 0 centuries, but in the 1st century
  • 1980 ended in the 19th century, but in the 20th century
  • 2018 is over 20 centuries, but in the 21st century

So CCYY is equal to YYYY, but in a different way
