PHP7 Certification

With the release of PHP 7, should I apply for PHP 5 certification or is it better to wait until the PHP 7 certification is released / announced? What plans does Zend make regarding this certification?

It all depends on why you want to be certified. If you want to learn only about new features, you should wait for PHP7 certification. But if you need to find a job or convince your boss that you understand PHP, you can now get a PHP5 certificate.

I think it will take several years for clients to use PHP7, and we will see some years when 5 and 7 will be supported next to each other. A lot of outdated code will break due to the refusal to support some modules. For example, the mysql module is still in use.
