Plotly js: how to run my javascript ONLY after loading image image

When using any type of graphical graph with the Javascript API (plotly.js, not plotly-nodejs), how can I run some javascript ONLY after loading the graph? I am looking for a mechanism in the javascript graphics API that, for example, does the same thing as "addListenerOnce", combined with "patchloaded" or "ready", when using the Google Maps API.

For example, let's say I just want to display a warning immediately after rendering the example shown at https://plot.ly/~PlotBot/685 , for which the html and js code can be seen at https://plot.ly/~PlotBot/ 685.js.

There are many reasons for this, but the one I came across now uses wkhtml2pdf, which has to wait for the page to display before displaying it (see wkhtmltopdf javascript delay ) (Yes, I know I can use -javascript-delay with wkhtml2pdf but hard code a fixed amount of time and hope that your program will wait long enough for its next steps to be successful, and not the solution I'm looking for - and, moreover, this approach is specific to wkhtml2pdf and does not answer the general question) .

Prefer a browser-independent solution, but at least you need it to work in Chrome

Using a promise, as mentioned in the comments above, is the right solution. However, the promise is triggered before the first animation frame is rendered. As a workaround, you can sign up for a promise, and then wait for the end of the animation frame using requestAnimationFrame .

EDIT: For Firefox, a single frame of animation is enough, but not Chrome. Therefore, I am editing the use of a pair of animation frames, which seems to fix the problem in Chrome, and should continue to work in Firefox. This, of course, is just a workaround for the problem in Plotly, as the promise should not be resolved until the plot is made.
