Class Library vs (Portable) vs (Universal Windows) vs (Portable iOS, Android, Windows)

I find it difficult to understand the difference between all of these class library templates in Visual Studio 2015. Can someone explain or provide documentation? I tried to watch, but was unsuccessful.

Portable can work and reference without the need to install Class libraries - these are standard libraries for Windows Universal desktop applications (which I have never used), I believe that it is specific to Win8, Win10 and Windows Store applications on many devices.

I am mistaken, like everyone else, so I do not perceive this as a 100% fact for Universal libs, but this is my understanding
