How to add LateX / Math in the Windows 10 Ink API?

From the highlights of Microsoft Build 2016, I saw Microsoft pushing its new ink API.

  • What are the new add-ons?
  • Can ink
    • Understand and digitize handwriting?
    • Understand math / equations and digitize it (e.g. latex)?
  • Are there any other APIs that can do this for UWP or Unity?
  • How can I create it myself?

Denim link refers to user recognition. Is this what I'm looking for? I feel that it should be possible to add characters to the search dictionary.

-Support handwriting and digitize it?

Yes, that is the whole point of the API.

This is mainly OCR 2.0

- Consider math / equations and digitize it (e.g. latex)?

Nope. Or, at least, not yet because, of course, it will be a logical extension of the API.

Are there any other APIs that can do this for UWP or Unity?

Not that I heard.

Finally, I don’t think the Jeans link is what you are looking for. This is not just a matter of adding a new symbol, but also its convenient presentation.

For example, how would you display \ frac {\, \ frac {a} {b} \,} {\ frac {c} {d}}?

There is no correct way to position a / b above the fraction line and c / d below it. Even if you can use a superscript and an index, there is no way for the standard police to align them vertically.

The good news is: Ink is an API, which means you can create a wrapper that, for example, automates the creation of latex pdf. So yes, you could create the functionality you are looking for a bit in C # (since it looks like in a Microsoft environment)

Good luck

Yes, for the first point, you can convert ink strokes to text using handwriting recognition.

Recognize ink strokes

For mathematics and equations, no default recognizer has been detected at this time.
