There is no control panel for the left and right view pane of Android Studio 2.2 preview 2/3/4/5

Question

I recently updated the preview of Android Studio 2.2 2, but somehow the left and right detailed panels (circled below) of the layout inspector are missing. How can I make them appear again? Is this an Android Studio bug?

Android Studio 2.2 preview 3 still got this problem.

The error has already been tracked officially .

EDIT (I really don't believe this, but it is)

The bug in Preview 5 has been fixed. The reason you still don't see additional panels is because they are truncated to size 0 . Check out the following demo video: https://vid.me/ZRKv
