Error publishing employee role in VS 2013: an error occurred reflecting the type "Microsoft.Cct.AzureDiagnostics.ObjectModel.PublicConfig"

I get an error when publishing an employee role from Visual Studio 2013 with update 5. When I select an employee role project and click on publish, it shows me below errors in a popup window and I can’t move forward:

An error occurred reflecting the type "Microsoft.Cct.AzureDiagnostics.ObjectModel.PublicConfig".

Any help related to this is appreciated. Please let me know if you need more information.

I found a solution here :

  • In your Azure project, edit any diagnostics.wadcfgx files in a text editor and set <IsEnabled>false</IsEnabled> (below)

  • Right-click the project> Publish, disable Send diagnostics data to Application Insights , click Next

I upgraded from the Azure SDK from 2.3 to 2.9.

I had this exact problem after upgrading Azure Tools from 2.6 to 2.9. I solved it by going to the "Programs and Features" and deleting all the elements that started with "Microsoft Azure", and had a version number 2.6 in the name, leaving only 2.9 for (all with Visual Studio 2013 closed). Then I restarted Visual Studio 2013 and it magically started working correctly!

Ive installed Azure SDK 2.7 (functions for VS2013), restarted VS2013, and it worked again, you can load SDK items manually https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48178
