Pycharm with IdeaVim sometimes makes the keyboard immune

Every time you use PyCharm Community Edition with IdeaVim on Ubuntu 13.10, the keyboard stops accepting input and I need to restart the IDE. The cursor still moves when I press different areas of the text, but I can’t enter anything even after pressing escape several times. The keyboard works fine outside of the IDE, so I suspect this is a problem with my use of IdeaVim or IdeaVim.

Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

You can make killall -9 ibus-x11 as described in the problem posed by Brainiac games. I just wanted to point out that you do not need to restart the IDE, as it should continue to work again ... which is nice, the cancellation history is saved, etc. :)

I have the same problems, I reported this and still do not know how to fix it. I noticed that there are many reports of similar problems, but now I tried to follow these recommendations:

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-78860

"Alternatively, you can disable IBus in System Settings | Language Support | Keyboard input method."

After I did this and restarted the system, I never had a problem.

Either upgrade IBus to version 1.5.11, or add export IBUS_ENABLE_SYNC_MODE=1 to your ~ / .profile, and then restart the session.
