Failed to resolve: com.google.android.gms: play-services-cast: 9.8.00

I use Android Studio and cloned the CastVideo v2 linking application and configured it using CastCompanionLibrary according to its instructions.

However, when I try to synchronize the gradle project, it says: Failed to resolve: com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.8.00 . I have the Install Repository and sync project option, but it does nothing.

I tried to do Invalidate Caches / Restart... by uninstalling and reinstalling Google Repository and Google Play services using the SDK manager, changing the dependency version and renaming it to play-services-cast-framework , without success.

My build.gradle does not change from those in the repositories.

Does anyone know how to fix this? SO and Google's search queries were fruitless as they read other unresolved dependency issues.

There is currently no dependency:

Using

 com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.6.1

instead

 com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.8.00

EDIT:

Today (10/25/2016) is available in the SDK Manager.
Just update the SDK manager and use:

 com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.8.0

i, facing the same problem, here is what i am doing:

  • open the build.gradle application
  • change com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.8.00 to com.google.android.gms:play-services-cast:9.8.0

I notice this after updating my google repository.

hope this helps
