Why doesn't IntelliJ Idea recognize my Spek tests?

Question

I have a Kotlin project with Gradle with some Spek , which are based on JUnit and should be compatible with Idea.

But I do not see the Start menu item in the context menu.

Why? What do I need to do to be able to run Spek tests in Idea, like other JUnit tests?

Here is my build.gradle :

Have you installed the Spek plugin for IntelliJ ?

Just search for spek in the IntelliJ plugin settings.

Since you are using Junit 4.11, you can remove this from your build.gradle:

 junitPlatform { filters { engines { include 'spek' } } } 

Then add this above your test class declaration:

 @RunWith(JUnitPlatform::class)
