Cannot start Jenkins service on Ubuntu

I have a Ubuntu server and have Jenkins installed on it for continuous integration. This morning I tried to run some assemblies, and they did not run away. I looked through the logs and realized that / var / log / jenkins had some large log files that populated my hard drive on the server. I deleted these files and tried to restart Jenkins.

At this moment, Jenkins will no longer start. I looked at the / tmp directory, and it looks like there is some kind of memory leak that creates a large 1 MB file called winstonexxxxxxxxxxx.jar in my tmp directory, which fills all the 1 mb space of my tmp directory.

Can anyone help to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance

This is an unresolved issue .

Suggested solutions:

  • Make sure all Jenkins processes are closed and nothing is working on your Jenkins port (default is 8080 )
  • Start jenkins
  • If Jenkins still does not start, there may be a problem of 1 MB /tmp . Either increase it, or use any of the following solutions to change the temporary directory for Jenkins: How do I change the location of den-jenkins` / tmp`?
  • If the tmp is still full, you can install the Tmp Cleaner Plugin .
