How to set up a Vista Ultimate account (64 bit) so that it can access the SMB resource on OSX?

I have Windows file sharing on an OS X 10.4 computer. It is available through \ rudy \ myshare for all Windows users on the network, with the exception of one guy with the 64-bit version of Vista Ultimate.

All other users use Vista or XP, all 32-bit. All information about the workgroup is the same, all logins with the same username / password.

The Vista 64 guy can see the Mac on the network, but his username is rejected every time.

Now I believe that Vista Ultimate has something configured differently with the business version and XP, but I don’t know where to look. Any ideas?

Try changing the local security policy in this Vista window for "Local Policies \ Security Settings \ Network Security: LAN Authentication Level" from "Only send NTLMv2 response" to "Send LM and NTLM, using NTLMv2 session security if they are consistent."

Not. I have successfully done this with a 64-bit Vista machine. You can try to use the IP address of the device and try to connect in this way. Or maybe check the log files on a Mac to find out what the rejection error is.
