Is there any wiki engine that supports page creation via email?

I want to consolidate all the free information about the company in which I work into a knowledge base. Wikis seem to be on their way, but most of the relevant information is buried inside PST files, and it would take a long time to convince people to manually translate their emails one by one (including attachments) into wiki pages. Therefore, I am looking for a wiki mechanism that supports the creation of a page by email, that is, the ability to receive email (supporting plain text, html and attachments), and then create the corresponding page. Support for indexing files and finding duplicates will be a huge bonus.

I tried with WikiMatrix but did not find what I was looking for. I would not want to create my own engine (borrowing a couple of fragments here and there for MIME decoding ), but I do not think this is a rare problem, so the implementation does not work.

Both Jotspot and MediaWiki allow this. The latter supports many plugins, of which this is one. The format is essentially PageTitle @something. Jotspot is a hosted solution where you get your own email address, MediaWiki is self-contained, and you provide it with an inbox to monitor your inbox.

Articles are added to pages if they already exist, or a new page is created if it is not. This requires some discipline to indicate conventions, but is great for CC'ing.

We use MediaWiki here, and I really like it. It has the same disadvantages as many other Wiki packages (for example, it is difficult to reorganize without orphaned pages), but it is also good, if not better, than other Wiki packages that I used.

I don’t know if this is exactly what you are looking for, but I know that many of the 37 Signals products support the addition of email data. I use Highrise to track some of my business correspondence, and I can use CC or forward Highrise letters and they are added to the corresponding contact.
