Choosing JVM on Windows Mobile

What are the JVM features available on Windows Mobile?

Esmertec JBed is the one on my WinMo phone.

I wonder how many other JVM providers are in this zone. Is there any comparison or comparison data?

JVM selection for Windows CE as a whole (including Pocket PC and Windows Mobile):

If you want to have a common code base between WinMo and Symbina, you can also look at Red Five Labs . They have Symbian runtime that allows COmpact Framework applications to run, so you may have a CF database that runs on both. I appreciated the early Red Five beta offers, but have not used them since, so I cannot confirm the quality or coverage.

The reason was to have the same code base in WinMo and Symbian.

My personal preference would be to have my own solution for both. But that would mean developing and maintaining two sets of codebases. And the manual does not prefer that for some reason;)

There are two JVMs for WinMo, Mysaifu for J2SE and IBM WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment for J2ME.

Prakash, since your goal is to have a common code base between J2ME and WinMo phones, check out alcheMo. alcheMo is not a JVM, but a fully automated J2ME for Win32's own WinMo port migration solution.

Even if you are a little late for this question and just for the sake of completion: JBlend (micro) is the Java environment for Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5, which is used, for example, on HTC devices. It allows you to use CLDC and MIDP 1.0 and 2.0.

This is actually not an answer, but it does not make sense to orient your software to the .NET framework compact edition if you are developing for WinMo?

HP also had a JVM called HP Chai on older Pocket PC models.

phoneME ( java.net page ) seems to be another choice. Recommended LWUIT FAQ .
