Windows Notification Library

I am developing a small taskbar icon application for Windows, and I need to display non-intrusive visual notifications similar to those that appear when you receive a new message in MSN Messenger or in any other IM application.

I looked at Snarl , but it seems to be a separate application that I need to install. I want something that could be related to my application in one installer, a library.

Which one do you recommend?

Python support is a huge plus.

You can do this, depending on the GUI library.

For example, with PyQt it is possible:

I wrote one for .NET for the Genghis project ( link here ) a while ago. It seems like it all ended in MS CodePlex. Look for the AniForm class. Here is a screenshot.

It has an older look and feel of MSN Messenger, but you should start.

Are you developing an application in Python? It depends on which GUI tool you are using.

If you are using wxPython, you can try ToasterBox or wxPopupWindow.

You do not need anything. Just use windows with toasters with Win32 api
