I think that a real / strong AI has lost it, for decades the talking / understanding computer will be available "in the next 5 years." Then we ended up with Dragon (without a connection) that doesnβt understand anything, itβs a smart microphone, and this time, since I heard something about AI, itβs just not mainstream anymore, because itβs too hard. One thing that, in my opinion, proved the undoubted real AI, since in the machine of thinking, the Turing Test, passing AI is still (very) far. Do not get me wrong, there is a lot of good research, but we will have to wait 200-500 years to achieve the result.
Feel that this will be interesting material coming out of massively parallel systems, especially those built with really simple nodes. And if I were to point out one breakthrough of AI, I would look at the backs from the field of nanotechnology, get really small and see which cells in the brain are still science fiction, but we are hacking it for one day.
