Help! How to create a user interface specification

Shit. I was tasked with creating a technical specification for the user interface that I am developing. This is my first real work as a developer, and looking at the technical specifications for the project backend, I feel a little overhead. I can make layouts and wireframes until the cow returns home, but I'm not quite sure how to collect all this information.

Does anyone know of a good resource, or perhaps a good example of a UI specification?

Not sure if this is any help, but I like how the mozilla project details the ui specifications on their wiki.
Example: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/UI/Designs/TouchScreen

You can take a look at the general user interface features for OpenOffice for ideas.

wireframes / layouts - this is the most important thing that needs to be done correctly (they represent functionality from the point of view of users)

I have a blog post about creating wireframes that describes a number of different tools that you can use (from Word to Visio), so you can choose what is most convenient for you: http://pm4web.blogspot.com /2008/10/wireframes-and-mockups-part-1.html

also try joel on software specification specification: http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/fog0000000036.html

This is a very good basic style for beginners (where did I start)

hope this helps
