Please suggest some great sites for a .NET programmer.

I am new to the .NET programming world, and I want to know about websites that have articles, tips, and other useful information about .NET and Microsoft technologies. The websites I visit now:

  • MSDN
  • Stackoverflow
  • WindowsClient.NET
  • TheServerSide.NET

I would like to know about the new .NET websites!

Thanks Ek

Many good resources are already listed.

If you are looking for articles, Draft Code is a good site for frequent.

Here are some of them that can help you get started:

The following are not web resources, but what you might consider:

  • If you can afford it, look at Amazon for a book on .NET, look at survey stars to determine which ones are good.
  • Check out C # Design Patterns - James W Cooper for an understanding of GOF patterns in C #

Do not be afraid to visit CodePlex and look for an application that may be of interest to you and download the source code,

Run the application in debug mode to understand how it works. You can also do Google Search for C # open source projects to further enhance your learning.

Good luck in learning

If you're interested in performance, see the Maoni blog to find out how GC works.

DotNetKicks is a good collection of various .NET related blog posts and other news. This is not intended specifically for new users, but there are definitely a lot of useful content on many topics. This is also pretty timely, so I found it to be a good resource to stay on top of the latest technologies and discussions in the .NET world.

There is free documentation in C #, only for the basics:

Galileo Openbook - Visual C # 2008

For me, this is basically google.com for starters :-)

Only the extended (or quirky) material of ASP.Net, C # and SQL Server http://blog.DigitalTools.com

I would say that there are worse ones than good ones.

Personally, I usually adhere to MSDN and read official blogs / posts from product groups.
