Is there a way to run Trac offline?

I want to download the Trac database so that I can view its tickets offline. Anyway, for this? That is, if I need to leave the office and bring my laptop with me, how can I take tickets with me without connecting to the company network?

I know that Mylyn can load and synchronize tickets through the trac connector, but I need some kind of standalone viewer.

See Simple Defects (SD) .

I especially like the idea of โ€‹โ€‹"One-tweet install".

I'm installing #SD (http://syncwith.us) after reading about it on #StackOverflow curl fsck.com/sd|perl; export $PATH=~/sd/bin:$PATH; sd

Please note that you can clone Trac (and other bugtracks) to SD :

 sd clone --from trac:https://trac.parrot.org/parrot

Seeing how you don't want to install a server, how about using RSS? IIRC, Trac allows you to receive RSS feeds for each person, so that you can have the transfer of things assigned to you.

All you need is to get a good customer who will upload these tickets. You must have access to an open text version without an internet connection.

If this is not flexible enough, you can write a script on the server to publish the feed directly using the database.

And if RSS is not for you (and your email is offline), you can send messages home. Trac also has an integrated interface.

By default, the SQLite combination is used to install Trac to determine all the data. Links are stored in the file system.

In the folder containing the trac site, find \ db \ trac.db

This file can be viewed using SQLite manager Firefox Addon

Happy hunt.

And if RSS or email is not your notification of choice, there is a trac plugin that allows you to receive task notifications on the Remember the Milk task list.

If your goal is to simply view your tickets offline, how about

  • Run a report with all the tickets (or whatever interests you).
  • Select a comma delimited or tab delimited link at the bottom of the page.
  • Import the downloaded file into Excel.

you can install it on your local computer

You can locate the local tract locally and configure the connection point in your loaded database.

Of course. Install a local web server, install trac, configure the same (or similar) way as it is on the live version, and then the script server will publish db backups and write a local script to load these and restore them to your database.

It's not easy (installing Trac is a battle in itself from my experience), but each element is highly googleable =)
