Is the SQL Server Express 4 GB limit affected by the column enabled by FILESTREAM?

I read several conflicting reports on the net about whether the 4GB SQL Server Express restriction takes into account the content of FILESTREAM. Can anyone say that, citing official documentation, does the SQL Server Express storage limit affect the contents of FILESTREAM?

Support for SQL Server Express FILESTREAM. The 4 GB database size limit does not include the FILESTREAM data container.

According to Mike Vachal (program manager in the SQL Server group) in this forum, the pointer information for the blocks is included, but the blobs themselves are not. I know this is not “official documentation”, but it comes from someone in the SQL Server group.
