Simple, powerful and easy to configure CMS

I am looking for a simple and easy to configure CMS type in PHP or ROR, I used joomla before, but it becomes complicated for ordinary users and becomes more complicated for anything, so I am looking for a CMS that has all the basic functions that a CMS should have, but Easy to customize features and easy to change layouts.

Any suggestions?

One CMS I recently came across was silverstripe . From a look at its code and some examples, it looks well written, supports simple model extensions, as well as behavior and has a nice user interface. The basic functionality seems reasonable, but not too complicated. The project turned out to be quite a reputation, as we built some of Obama's pages on top of this. It is written in php5 as a php cake (this means that you just need to provide methods with specific names to allow the framework to do all these magic things) ...

http://ramesh-rubyonrails.blogspot.com/2007/11/radiant-cms-ruby-on-rails.html This is a CMS for Rails. The structure of Rails projects is often the same. I think its very easy to handle :)

EDIT: Can you specify the CMS functions?

How about Halogy, an open source cms made on the stunning Codeigniter framework. Too little knowledge needed to work

Pixie is simple enough to use and has an architechture plugin, although not the nicest code for it.

Depending on your requirements, he can do this.

I use the Baker website .
It is probably not as powerful as Joomla, but it is easy to understand and use.

I personally prefer Joomla . Community support is amazing: for all applications there are extensions (plugins, modules and components), it works on php4 and php5, and it is very easy to expand, configure and install

I believe that the mistake of most cms solutions is that they have one interface for two different tasks: creating a website and content content. I wrote a Wordpress plugin that simplifies both tasks by breaking them down. A web designer creates a website by creating html templates, adding code fragments where editable parts should be. The editor supports the website directly in the interface. All other functions are performed.

Please watch frontendcms.com to see a demo video on how the look of a CMS looks and how easy it is to create.

Use zyro builder. No extra code, just drag and drop.

Joomla is too heavy and not just studying. The same goes for Drupal.

I use Websitebaker , very nice and easy to learn.

Hosted but absolutely awesome: http://verbcms.com

Fully customizable, whitelabelable and templateless. Written in ROR, allows you to code in PHP / HTML / HAML. They do not make you pay until your site goes live.
